Federal Minister Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui appreciates CISNR and IGNITE for developing “Electrocure: Innovative solutions for losses reduction”

Islamabad, January 09, 2019 (PPI-OT): Federal Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunication Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui has said that the government will support every idea that will bring positive change in life of common man and improve country’s economy. The Federal Minister was addressing a seminar titled “Electrocure: Innovative solutions for losses reduction” here on Wednesday. Electrocure system is developed by Center of Intelligent System and Network Research ( CISNR) and financed by Ignite National Technology Fund under Ministry of IT and Telecommunication.

Electrocure reduces electricity losses using Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Internet of Things (IOT). He lauded Center for Intelligent System and Network Research for developing Electrocure that will reduce electricity losses and theft. Federal Minister Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui said that innovation is the prime determinant of technology knowledge-based economy that can bring maximum dividends in various areas. He said that government is continuously boosting startup based ideas to promote entrepreneurship and business mindset.

The Federal Minister said that we are trying to encourage more innovative products like Electrocure that has potential to bring our electricity woes to an end. Ignite portal www.ignite.org.pk/nic was also launched on the occasion. CEO Ignite Yusuf Hussain said that the portal provides access to hundreds of startups like Electrocure or those on the way. Dr. Gul Muhammad, Director CISNR said that his ignite funded product Electrocure aims to reduce electricity losses up to 90% through theft detection ,load balancing and identifying other administrative /technical losses reduction procedures within electricity infrastructure.
