Federal Ombudsman Ejaz Ahmed Qureshi has taken notice of the complaints against NIRM Hospital, dispatching a senior advisory team led by Ahmed Farooq to inspect the facility. During the visit, the team interacted with patients to identify their issues and submitted a report to the Ombudsman.

The Ombudsman instructed the Capital Development Authority (CDA) to expedite renovation efforts at the hospital. Additionally, the hospital administration was directed to set up medical camps in peripheral areas for public convenience.

During the inspection, the team expressed dissatisfaction with the lack of air conditioning in the women’s ward and instructed the hospital management to repair and install new units within 15 days. Patients generally commended the hospital staff for their cooperation and care.

The hospital administration briefed the team about the longstanding issue concerning the MRI machine, which has been held up at Port Qasim, Karachi, for a year due to customs clearance delays. The team directed the Ministry of Health, customs officials, and other relevant bodies to complete all legal requirements and ensure the machine’s prompt delivery to the hospital.

The inspection team praised the hospital’s overall performance and encouraged further improvements in operations.
