ISLAMABAD:After taking oath as Advisor to the Federal Ombudsman in Regional Office Abbottabad, Abdul Ghafoor Baig on Wednesday formally assumed his office.

He was appointed as Advisor by the Federal Ombudsman Ijaz Ahmad Qureshi. Mr Baig is a retired Commissioner of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government. The Federal Ombudsman Ejaz Ahmad Qureshi has said that the jurisdiction of the Federal Ombudsman’s Office in Abbottabad has been extended to the whole Hazara Division as complaints have been increasing day by day.

He said uninterrupted and speedy justice to the people of Hazara division will be provided. After taking oath, Abdul Ghafoor Baig said the complainant can register his complaint on a simple piece of paper on which immediate action is taken and notices are issued to the concerned departments.

He said there is no court fee and no lawyer is required. The Federal Ombudsman has instructed Abdul Ghafoor Baig to resolve the grievances both in the traditional and non-traditional manner. On this occasion, Khawaja Saif-ur-Rehman, Regional Head, Federal Ombudsman Secretariat Abbottabad, welcomed the appointment of Abdul Ghafoor Baig for the people of Hazara and said that the people of Hazara Division should benefit from this institution.
