NAROWAL:Farmers in Mardowal village of Narowal suffered a loss of millions of rupees when a harvester machine caught fire due to short-circuit.

In no time the fire engulfed the entire machine and soon spread over 10 acres of land on which wheat crop was sown. Although four fire brigade vehicles reached site of the incident and doused the flames but by then the wheat crop as well as the machine had been completely burnt, leaving the farmers in a state of shock.

Meanwhile, a four-year-old boy named Hamza lost his life while five others, including a girl, suffered burn injuries after a house caught fire in Talagang town of Chakwal district also due to short-circuit. According to reports, the fire soon spread to a neighbouring house. Resultantly, household items reduced to ashes. Rescue 1122 personnel reached site of the fire and shifted the injured to City Hospital.
