ABBOTTABAD:Fires have been banned in the firework camps of Abbottabad where there is a risk of forest fires.
This was decided in a meeting held under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Abbottabad Tariq Salam Marwat on Wednesday. Steps were taken regarding the occurrence of forest fires and were discussed in detail according to government orders.
The concerned agencies were directed to take all precautionary measures in this regard. Violation of this order will be dealt with in accordance with the law especially in Galiyats and other tourist bound areas. A meeting regarding dengue control was also held under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Abbottabad Tariq Salam Marwat.
A detailed briefing was given by the Department of Health regarding dengue control. The Deputy Commissioner while finalizing the dengue control and preparedness, called for training of staff. He directed the WASA and TMA Abbottabad, Havelian, Lora and Lower Tanawal, Local Government and other concerned departments to take steps for dengue control by implementing of protocol of the control of dengue.
Direction to the health department and other departments to launch a special campaign to create awareness among the people about dengue control were also given. The DC issued detailed instructions for dengue control inside health centers to avoid any emergencies.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Shahab Muhammad Khan, Deputy District Health Officer Dr Shahzad Iqbal, Divisional Monitoring Officer Syed Sohaib Shah, Coordinator Dr Shahid and other senior officials attended the meeting.
