KARACHI:First Lady Samina Alvi on Friday visited Karachi Vocational Training Centre for the Intellectually Challenged. She was welcomed with flowers and the smiling faces of children. CEO of KVTC Senator Abdul Haseeb Khan along with President KVTC Dr Akhtar Aziz, Joint Secretary Dr Farhan Essa, and Member Executive Committee Amir Rasool Paracha were also present and welcome her.

She visited various vocational training and therapy units of the Centre and inquired about the students’ wellbeing. She appreciated the students for handmade craft they made. The students of KVTC presented their handmade Ajrak to the First Lady.

Afterward, Senior Executive Administration Farheen Amir, Director Rehabilitation Amir Shahab, and Principal Sana Ayaz briefed the First Lady about the institute’s working and initiatives taken for the training and empowerment of Special children.

Samina lauded the efforts of KVTC in enhancing the strengths of intellectually challenged children so that they can achieve their maximum potential for independent living and meaningful careers. She assured her full support in helping to fulfil KVTC’s Vision 2030.
