Five Excise Department offices to be built with Rs.148.389 million cost

Karachi, October 16, 2019 (PPI-OT): Sindh Minister for Excise and Taxation Mukesh Kumar Chawla has said Sindh Excise Department would construct five offices in Matiari, Tando Allahyar, Tando Muhammad Khan, Jamshoro and Umerkot districts at the cost of Rs 148.389 million.

This he said while presiding over a meeting here in his office on Wednesday. Secretary Excise and Taxation Abdul Haleem Shaikh, Director General Narcotics Control Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui and other officers also attended the meeting. He said that the purpose of construction of those offices was to run official matters smoothly and to facilitate the people.

The minister said that the Sindh government was keenly interested to provide facilities to the people at their door steps. Chawla also reviewed the overall performance of the officers in connection with collection of the taxes and asked them to speed up their efforts for collection of the taxes. In the meeting, it was decided that a road checking campaign would soon be launched to nab tax defaulting vehicles. Chawla directed director administration to prepare a comprehensive plan for the launch of the drive.
