At least five militants affiliated with the Indian-backed group Fitna al-Khwarij were killed in two separate intelligence-based operations conducted by Pakistan’s security forces in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Province on June 15 and 16.
According to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Monday, the first operation was carried out in the Peshawar District based on credible intelligence regarding the presence of Indian-sponsored militants in the area.
During the operation, security forces successfully cordoned off the location and engaged the militants in an intense exchange of fire. Four terrorists, including identified commanders Haris and Baseer, were neutralized. In a separate operation conducted in North Waziristan District, another militant was killed following a similar intelligence-led engagement.
The security forces also recovered a cache of weapons, ammunition, and explosives from the slain militants. The group was reportedly involved in numerous terrorist activities in the region and was linked to Indian state sponsorship.
Sanitization operations are ongoing in both districts to eliminate any remaining militant presence. The Pakistan Armed Forces reaffirmed their resolve to eradicate the threat of terrorism and Indian-sponsored proxies from the country.
