Five people were killed and 39 others injured in different road mishaps due to fog

KHAIRPUR:Five people were killed and 39 others injured in different road mishaps due to fog in Nawabshah, Naushehro Feroze, Khairpur, Sukkur and Ghotki districts on Sunday.

According to Motorway police, 10 vehicles collided on Daulatpur Bypass in district Nawabshah. As a result, two people, including Ghaffar Khan Pathan of Peshawar and Farooq Ahmed Pathan of Karachi, were killed on spot while 20 others were injured. Among the injured were Hidayatullah, Taimoor, Attif, Ayatullah, Khalil Ahmed and Jahanzeeb.

The bodies and injured were shifted to Qazi Ahmed and Nawabshah hospitals for medico-legal formalities and treatment, respectively. In another incident, a van going to Moro from Hyderabad collided with a trailer, killing one person and injuring eight others. They were shifted to Qazi Ahmed and Nawabshah hospitals.

Separately, a speeding coach bound to Punjab from Karachi fell into the roadside ditch on Rohri Bypass near Piyalla Hotel, resulting in one person’s death and injuries to 10 others. The body and injured were shifted to a Rohri hospital.

Meanwhile, a motorcycle collided with a camel-cart near Kumb town, killing biker Waqar Ahmed Ujjan and injuring Haneef UJJan. The Kumb police shifted the body and injured to a Kotdiji hospital.
