Five villagers killed, four injured in armed clash near Shikarpur

SHIKARPUR:Five villagers were killed and four injured in a gun battle between Dal and Juneja tribesmen in village New Amrote within the jurisdiction of Amrote police station on Friday morning.

According to a report, some group of armed men belonging to Juneja tribesmen attacked village New Amrote with automatic weapons. The Dal community men also retaliated the fire. As a result of shootout between the two tribesmen, five persons Sanaullah Dal, Abdul Wahab Dal, Rasool Bux Junejo and Ghulam Asghar Junejo of both the sides were killed while four persons, including a woman working in the agriculture field were injured, who were identified as Abdul Fatah Dal, Jamshed Dal, Nisar Dal and Musamat Sharifan Khatoon Received serious bullet injured.

The bodies and the injured were shifted to Taluka Hospital Madeji. Later, the injured persons were referred to Sukkur and Larkana hospitals for further treatment after first aid. The bodies were handed over to their heirs after conducting a postmortem examination from Taluka Hospital Madeji.

According to police, the cause behind the gun battle occurred between the two tribes of Juneja and Dal communities was a dispute over the simple matter of exchange of mobile sets. Neither any arrest of the culprits was made nor FIRs were got registered till late Friday evening. The people of the affected areas were under panic. Both rival set up their own pickets to avoid more bloodshed.
