Flag hoisting ceremony held at Embassy of Pakistan in Dakar to celebrate 78th National Day of Pakistan

Islamabad, March 26, 2018 (PPI-OT):To celebrate the 78th National Day of Pakistan, a flag hoisting ceremony was held at the Embassy of Pakistan in Dakar (Senegal). H.E. Mohammad Imran Mirza, Pakistan’s Ambassador to Senegal hoisted the national flag along with the National Anthem. The messages of the President and the Prime Minister of Pakistan were also read out, says a press release received here from Senegal, Dakar. President Mamnoon Hussain and Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi in their messages stated that Pakistan came into being through a long democratic struggle and that the key to its stability and development also lies in democracy.

They also expressed that the spirit of tolerance and patience were the fundamentals of democracy. Both the leaders reiterated their resolve to ensure freedom, equality and social justice for every citizen of Pakistan as envisaged by Quaid-e-Azam. The Ambassador acknowledged the importance of Pakistani disapora towards progress and development of Pakistan and urged them to unite and come forward for nation building. Pakistani community residing in Senegal and six other countries of accreditation attended the ceremony. Light traditional refreshments were served.
