FO expresses concern over gross HR violations in IOK

Islamabad, August 31, 2018 (PPI-OT): The Foreign Office (FO) Spokesman, Dr Mohammad Faisal has expressed serious concern over the gross human rights violations by the Indian troops in occupied Kashmir. Dr Mohammad Faisal in his weekly briefing in Islamabad also denounced the continued illegal detention and deteriorating health of Hurriyat leaders including Shabbir Ahmed Shah, Masarrat Aalam Butt, Aasiya Andrabi, Nahida Nasreen, Fehmeeda Sofi, Nayeem Ahmed Khan, Ayaz Muhammad Akbar, Altaf Ahmed Shah, Peer Saifullah, Merajuddin Kalwal, Farooq Ahmed Dar, Ghulam Muhammad Khan Sopori and hundreds of Hurriyet leaders and activists languishing in notorious Tihar Jail in New Delhi and other jails and interrogations centres.

He also strongly condemned the continued house arrest of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference Chairman, Syed Ali Gilani, and other Hurriyat leaders and activists. He said that recently the Indian government banned Al-Jazeera TV following a documentary report telecast by this international news channel on the situation in occupied Kashmir. The objective and factual documentary was not acceptable to the Indian agencies, he added.
