FO spokesman condemns killing spree by Indian troops in IOK

Islamabad, January 18, 2018 (PPI-OT):Foreign Office spokesman, Dr Mohammad Faisal has condemned the continued killing spree by Indian forces in occupied Kashmir. Dr Mohammad Faisal in his weekly briefing in Islamabad, today, said that Indian occupational forces during violent and illegal operations and fake encounters martyred six Kashmiri youth in Shopian and Baramulla areas recently.

He also deplored that Hurriyet leaders and activists including Shabbir Ahmed Shah, Masarrat Aalam Butt and Nayeem Ahmed Khan continued to remain under illegal detention, which is highly condemnable.

He said Shabbir Ahmed Shah’s wife, Dr Bilquees Shah, has submitted an application before the court that her husband is suffering from various ailments and has been on regular medicine for the past six years. She also said that Shabbir Shah is being slow poisoned in Tihar Jail of New Delhi, he added.

The spokesman said before coming to the press briefing, he summoned the Indian Deputy High Commissioner, J P Singh and condemned the unprovoked ceasefire violations by the Indian troops along the Working Boundary, today, in Sialkot Sector, resulting in the martyrdom of two innocent women (45-year-old Perveen Bibi and 20-year-old Ayesha) while injuring 5 others including three females.

The Indian troops along the Working Boundary started indiscriminate and unprovoked firing with heavy mortars and automatic weapons since Wednesday night on the civilian populated villages in Sialkot. He urged that the India should permit the UNMOGIP to play its mandated role as per the UN Security Council resolutions.
