Foreign Minister expresses appreciation at OIC’s consistent support for Kashmir cause

Islamabad, November 27, 2020 (PPI-OT): Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi met Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation Dr. Yousef Al-Othaimeen on the side-lines of two-day meeting of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers in Niamey, Niger. The exchange of views covered wide range of issues confronting the Muslim Ummah, including rising Islamophobia, the situation in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir and Palestine, and challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Foreign Minister conveyed Pakistan’s deep concern at the aggravating human rights situation in IIOJ and K and India’s moves to alter the demographic structure of the occupied territory, in clear violation of UN Resolutions and International Law. Shah Mahmood Qureshi expressed appreciation at the OIC’s consistent support for the Kashmir cause. The Secretary General reaffirmed OIC’s steadfast support on the Jammu and Kashmir dispute and also shared his perspective on the issue of Islamophobia.
