Formation of forward bloc in Sindh is like having pipedreams: Murad Ali Shah

Karachi, December 28, 2018 (PPI-OT): Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has said that the formation of a forward bloc in Sindh assembly to succeed the PPP government is like a ‘meatloaf in the dreams of a cat’. “This is merely a wishful thinking like having pipedreams.”

This he said while talking to media just after offering condolence with Syed Akhlaq Hussain Abdi, the father of slain former parliamentarian Ali Raza Abdi at his residence. He was accompanied by his Advisor Murtaza Wahab, Special Assistants Rashid Rabbani and Waqar Mehdi.

Replying to a question, the chief minister said that the opposition was very weak in Sindh Assembly but they were making tall claims than their strength. “The people of rural areas of Sindh totally rejected PTI but they got some seats in Karachi and every one knows how they had won,” he said and added in the recent local bodies election the people of Karachi have also rejected PTI. They [PTI] do not deserve to be responded to their futile statements.

He said during the last tenure a person had told him that a forward bloc was being formed in the assembly and 18 members were breaking away from PPP. “On this I told him to break away one MPA from PPP and I’ll give 17 MPAs,” he said and at end of the day they could not break away any MPAs. “These people are empty minded and they cannot assess the ground realities,” he said.

To another question about the rumours of Governor’s rule in Sindh, the chief minister said that there was a very clear direction in the constitution for imposition of Governor. The provincial assembly was empowered to call for imposition of the [Governor’s] rule, otherwise it was impossible. “We are in a majority and have enough strength, experience and capability to run the government and serve the people of Sindh,” he said and urged media not to put their ear towards the rumour mongering people.

To another question about putting his name on the ECL, Mr Shah said it was a surprising decision for him and “let them [PTI government] be happy with their absurd decisions,” he said and went on saying that since his last tenure as a chief minister he had visited China to attend CPEC meeting, went to perform Umera and visited Karbala and now recently went to attend another JCC meeting in China, otherwise he was not fond of undertaking foreign visits. “I am very clear that my name has deliberately been fitted in the JIT, otherwise my name should have not been included there,” he said and added his Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has already declared the JIT report as a bunch of lies.

To another question about the murder of Ali Raza Abdi, Murad Ali Shah said that it was a shocking incident for and he was not given such an intelligence report about such threats. “When three incidents, Landhi blast, attack on Millad in Gulistan-e-Jauhar and attack on Chinese Consulate he had convened a law and order meeting to discuss the overall situation and work out new strategies. “It was our failure that the terrorists had managed to reach the consulate and three innocent lives were claimed,” he said and added he has given clear instructions to all the law enforcement agencies to beef up the security in the city.

He said an important arrest relating to the murder of Ali Raza Abdi has been made at Airport. “A well-concentrated and strong investigation was going on into the incident, therefore he cannot disclose more details,” he said and assured the media that the killers of Ali Raza would be brought to book very soon.
