Former chairman Baitulmal Punjab announces his departure from PTI

PINDI BHATTIAN:Former PTI Member of Provincial Assembly and Chairman Baitul Mal Punjab, Mian Ahsan Ansar Bhatti, announced his departure from the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Friday, adding another twist to the political landscape. Bhatti’s decision comes amidst ongoing controversies surrounding the PTI’s stance towards state institutions.

Addressing the media in Pindi Bhattian, Ahsan Ansar Bhatti made it clear that he has not yet aligned himself with any other political party. However, he expressed his inability to support the PTI in its recent campaign against state institutions, particularly the armed forces.

Mr Bhatti highlighted that the army serves as the protector of Pakistan’s borders and engaging in confrontations with it is tantamount to being unpatriotic. Prior to his departure, Ahsan Ansar Bhatti held the position of a Member of Provincial Assembly (MPA) within the PTI, representing PP71. Moreover, he had also served as the Chairman of Baitul-Mal Punjab, a notable role within the party.
