At least four Indian troops were killed and six others injured in an attack in the Kathua district of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

According to a Kashmir Media Service report on Monday, the incident occurred when Indian army vehicles were targeted with grenades and automatic rifle fire by unknown attackers in the Machhedi area of the district. The condition of two of the wounded soldiers is stated to be critical.

Following the attack, Indian troops sealed the area and launched a massive cordon and search operation, which was ongoing till the last reports came in. Reinforcements were rushed to the place to augment the troops. Further details are awaited.
