Abbottabad: Four students were killed and several others injured when their school van fell into a ditch in Abbottabad area on Thursday.

According to rescue sources, the van carrying students was on its way when it went out of driver’s control and fell into a dich. As a result, four students, including three girls, were killed and several others injured, some of them seriously.

The accident happened after van driver lost control of the van due to failure of its brakes. The accident occurred in Abbottabad’s Lohar Tanawal Tehsil and three of the four deceased students were girls. The rescue personnel shifted the injured to Ayub Teaching Hospital for treatment. A mourning atmosphere prevailed in the houses of victims. The police could not registered the case till filing this report. Further investigation into the accident was underway, said the police.
