Friday prayers disallowed at Srinagar Jamia Masjid

Srinagar, January 26, 2018 (PPI-OT):In occupied Kashmir, the puppet authorities disallowed Friday prayers at Jamia Masjid in Srinagar, today. The action was aimed at preventing the people from assembling at the historic mosque and staging anti-India demonstrations. Call for the demonstrations was given by the Joint Resistance Leadership comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik on the occasion of Black Day, today, against the civilian killings, indiscriminate firing and use of pellets besides ransacking of properties by the Indian forces’ personnel.

The Chairman of Hurriyat forum, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, who was put under house arrest, in a tweet message lashed at the so-called authorities for caging the resistance leadership and disallowing Friday prayers at the Jamia Masjid. “Once again no prayers allowed in barricaded and garrisoned downtown including at the Jama Masjid, while all channels of communication remain blocked and leadership put under forced detention by the ‘republican state’,” he tweeted.
