Gang of bandits loot six journalists, cop, citizen

SHIKARPUR: A gang of bandits deprived six journalists, a policeman and a citizen of their mobile phones, cash and other valuables within the limits of New Faujdari police station, PPI learnt on Monday.

 

The bandits armed with kalashnikovs and pistols intercepted the car of Shikarpur Press Club’s journalists – Sultan Ahmed Rind, Javed Rahoojo, Abdul Khalique Soomro, Abdul Rasheed Jamro, Sultan Soomro and Zahid Hussain Sanjrani at gunpoint and deprived them of their mobile phones, cash and other valuables.

 

A police constable Abid Ali riding a bike was beaten up by them and also looted of his mobile phone and cash. Similarly, another citizen, Muhammad Younus Khilji accompanied with his friend was also looted by the armed men.

 

The hundreds of Journalists, civil society representatives and citizens, led by President Shikarpur Press Club Sodho James and PFUJ Shikarpur President Agha Israr Khan, held a protest demonstration out Shikarpur Press Club against the incident and demanded immediate recovery of looted goods and cash.
