Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif today issued a strong condemnation of what he described as a “dastardly attack” by Israeli forces on the Samud Gaza flotilla.
The flotilla, consisting of 40 vessels and carrying over 450 humanitarian workers from 44 nations, was targeted while on a mission to deliver aid to Gaza.
In a post on social media platform X, the Prime Minister emphasized the urgency for the release of all aid workers detained by Israeli authorities. He highlighted that the only “crime” committed by these volunteers was their dedication to delivering much-needed assistance to the beleaguered Palestinian populace.
The Prime Minister expressed his dismay at the situation, stating that such acts of cruelty must cease. He urged that peace be given a chance and that humanitarian aid be allowed to reach those in dire need.
This incident has garnered widespread attention, with global leaders and organizations voicing their concerns over the treatment of the humanitarian mission and the implications it holds for international efforts aimed at providing relief to conflict-stricken regions.
