KARACHI: The price of gold witnessed a big increase in the Pakistani jewellery market on Monday.

The price of 24-karat of pure gold increased by Rs1,200 per tola to reach Rs2,09,500 per tola in the Pakistani yellow metal bazaar. The All-Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association (APSGJA) shows the price of 10 grams of 24 Karats gold increased by Rs1,028 to settle at Rs1,79,612 per 10 grams.

The price of 10-gram gold of 22 karats is traded at Rs1,64,645 on the first day of the week. In the international market, the commodity price increased by $1 to reach $1,970 per ounce.

Meanwhile, silver prices of 24 karats in the domestic market also increased by Rs80 and traded at Rs2,350 per tola and the price of 10 grams of silver of 24 karats increased by Rs68.59 to Rs2014.74 on Monday.
