CHAMAN: Fifteen hundred tons of wheat was dispatched to Afghanistan on Wednesday via Chaman border as a goodwill gesture.

According to a statement, Juma Dad Mandokhail, Deputy Commissioner, Chaman, handed over 1,500 tons of wheat to Muhammad Sadiq, a representative of Afghanistan’s Agriculture Department, at Pak-Afghan border.

Speaking on the occasion, Mandokhail said, “Pakistan is always ready to provide edible items and medicines to neighbouring country Afghanistan as a goodwill gesture and the dispatch of 1500 tons wheat to Afghanistan is clear proof of it.”

Thanking the assistance of Government of Pakistan, Afghan representative Muhammad Sadiq said that Pakistan and Afghanistan, two neighbouring countries, had always stood shoulder to shoulder by each other during adverse periods, adding that the world, particularly neighbouring countries, would have to review their policies with regard to Afghanistan.
