Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has demanded that the government and the Ministry of Interior issue an immediate and clear denial of the “heinous rumors” being spread regarding the well-being of former Prime Minister Imran Khan and arrange a meeting with his family.

In a statement issued today by the PTI Information Department, unofficial platforms of Afghan and Indian media, as well as foreign social media accounts, were blamed for the spread of these speculations. PTI emphasized that an immediate meeting for Imran Khan’s family be arranged.

The organization further demanded that an official, transparent, and regular statement be issued to clarify Chairman Imran Khan’s health, safety, and current situation.

It also called for an investigation to identify the “characters” behind the spread of these “dangerous and sensitive rumors,” and urged that the facts be presented to the nation.

Highlighting the national sentiment, the statement warned that “the nation will not tolerate any uncertainty or ambiguity regarding its leader” and stressed that protecting Imran Khan’s safety, fundamental human rights, and constitutional requirements is the “direct responsibility of the government.”

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf assured the public that it is committed to combating baseless news, and said it would take “every legal and political step” to bring the truth to light.
