Islamabad, December 12, 2020 (PPI-OT): Minister for Aviation Ghulam Sarwar Khan says the government is ready to hold talks with the opposition on any issue, except NRO or corruption cases. Talking to media in Rawalpindi today, he said the opposition should sit with the government to reach consensus on national and international issues such as Covid-19, threat from India, Kashmir issue, electoral reforms, and economic problems. The Minister said the government’s desire for negotiations with the opposition should not be taken as its weakness.
Ghulam Sarwar Khan said holding public gatherings is a right of the opposition parties, but it could lead to faster spread of the pandemic. He said if the Prime Minister has asked the opposition to suspend its public gatherings for two to three months; it is because of the public interest in view of the Coronavirus pandemic.
