Islamabad, January 15, 2018 (PPI-OT):The National Assembly was informed on Monday that the government is taking effective measures to control spread of sectarian hatred and violence through Print and Electronic Media. Responding to a question, Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Marriyum Aurangzeb told the house that there is zero tolerance for the spread of sectarian hatred, violence, hate speeches and extremism through the media.
She said prompt legal actions have been taken against any violation according to the law, if reported. The Minister of State said the Ministry, through monitoring units in different organizations under its administrative control, makes sure that all publications, broadcasts and advertisements on national level do not contain or encourage violence, terrorism, sectarianism, religious discrimination and hate speech.
