Government taking steps to prevent implications of international price hike: PM

Islamabad, October 27, 2021 (PPI-OT):Prime Minister Imran Khan says the government is taking steps to prevent implications of international price hike for the people. Chairing a meeting to review the progress on Ehsaas Targeted Subsidy on Commodities in Islamabad today [Wednesday], he said direct subsidies on different commodities will help financially weaker segments of society. The Prime Minister was briefed about the progress and finalization of the targeted subsidy system.

He directed to ensure its early completion and to create awareness among the people so that maximum people can get benefit from this scheme. The Prime Minister said prices of the essential items are on the rise at the global level. He said the government is taking all possible measures to provide relief to the people.

Meanwhile, Senator Aon Abbas Buppi called on Prime Minister Imran Khan in Islamabad today. During the meeting positive impacts of special package for South Punjab were discussed. They also discussed the progress on issuance of Kisan Card and Health Card to provide relief to the people of South Punjab.
