Governor for promotion of art, culture

KARACHI: Sindh Governor Imran Ismail has said that steps would be taken for promotion of art and culture.

This he said during a meeting with CEO Crescent Art Gallery Nasir Javed leading a delegation at Governor House, according to a statement issued on Tuesday. Sumair Nasir and Sidrah Nasir included in the delegation.

CEO Nasir Javed briefed the Sindh governor on services of his gallery for promotion of arts and culture in Pakistan and abroad. He said that Crescent Art Gallery during last 20 years had promoted Pakistani art and culture by holding art exhibitions in Pakistan and abroad.

Javed said they were encouraging artists. He thanked the governor for his assistance and cooperation in this regard and said that due to his cooperation, a historic arts exhibition was arranged at the Governor House. He said wall painting work was in progress to beautify the Governor House.

The governor said that more steps would be taken for promotion of arts and culture. He said the Prime Minister Imran Khan wanted to make Pakistan at par with the developed countries in field of art and culture. He said in this regard, different projects were being implemented. Later, Javed presented a gift of art book to Governor Imran Ismail.
