Governor Balochistan, Sheikh Jaffar Khan Mandokhail, initiated the 2025 polio vaccination drive on Thursday, emphasizing the national commitment to eliminate the crippling disease. Administering polio drops to a child at the Pishin rest house, Mandokhail acknowledged the difficulty of the task but stressed its achievability.
He reiterated the government”s resolve to combat polio despite obstacles. Protecting the next generation from lifelong impairment is a national obligation, he declared. Mandokhail urged parents to vaccinate their offspring, highlighting that Pakistan and Afghanistan are the only two nations where the wild poliovirus persists. He affirmed the government”s dedication to complete eradication.
Provincial Ministers Mir Saleem Ahmed Khosa (Communication and Works), Raheela Hameed Khan Durrani (Education), Mir Shoaib Nosherwani (Finance), and Mir Asim Kurd Gilo (Board of Revenue) attended the event. Also present were Deputy Commissioner Pishin Zahid Khan Khilji, Communication Officer Asghar Khan, and Director General Balochistan Health Services Amin Khan Mandokhail.
