Sindh Governor Kamran Khan Tessori has taken notice of the abduction of three youths from Karachi and directed the Inspector General of Sindh Police to ensure their immediate recovery.
According to a statement issued from the Sindh Governor House today, the youths, who were traveling from Karachi to Sukkur, were abducted by dacoits in the riverine area. Reports revealed that the kidnappers had chained them and were demanding a ransom of Rs6 million for their release.
Tessori expressed serious concern over the incident and urged law enforcement agencies to take swift action to rescue the victims. The governor also emphasized the importance of providing security to citizens traveling across the province.
Meanwhile, former Sindh Governor Muhammad Zubair lauded the performance of Governor Tessori, terming his initiatives significant for public welfare.
Speaking at the “Governors’ Summit Grand Dinner” held at the Governor House, Zubair said: “What we couldn’t achieve, Kamran Khan Tessori has accomplished. His initiatives are commendable, and I wonder why I didn’t take such steps during my tenure.”
He also thanked Tessori for inviting him to the summit grand dinner. Zubair remarked that the Sindh Governor House was a symbol of British colonial heritage, and during his tenure, he had written to the federal government to consider its transformation.
He further added, “Every governor has strived to make the Governor House more accessible to the public, but Kamran Khan Tessori has truly turned it into a people’s space. Millions have visited, and it has hosted various gatherings and events.”
The former governor emphasized that the participation of all former governors in the summit symbolizes the strength and unity of the federation.
Former Governor Mian Muhammad Soomro graced the occasion with his address, where he commended the remarkable initiatives led by Governor Sindh, emphasizing their significant impact on the welfare and betterment of the people of Sindh.
