ISLAMABAD: PML-N leader Dr Musadik Malik on Monday said the government is making all possible efforts to overcome the load-shedding being faced by the masses.

 

Addressing a news conference here in Islamabad, he said it has been decided to purchase three cargos of furnace oil for next month and one ship for June to make functional, the closed power plants.

 

He said due to incompetency of the previous government, people are facing intense load-shedding in the month of Holy Ramadan. He said the power plants in 2018, were producing electricity on 13 rupee per unit cost which now is at the rate of 17 rupees.

 

Dr Musadik Malik said Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has taken serious notice of electricity shortfall and directed to take immediate steps in this regard. Meanwhile, Minister for Defense Production Muhammad Israr Tarin has said the government will provide all possible assistance to further strengthen and modernize the defense institutions of the country.

 

He was interacting with the Secretary Defense Production and other high officials of the ministry during his first visit to the ministry in Rawalpindi on Monday. The Minister was given detailed briefing about the ministry and other attached departments during the meeting.
