ISLAMABAD: Convener of Parliamentary Task Force on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Romina Khursheed Alam on Friday said the government is working on a diversified plan for socio-economic development through equipping youth with latest technologies and skills. In an interview with Radio Pakistan, she said Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is taking keen interest in youth affairs and different programmes have been launched to provide maximum facilities and incentive to the youth.

In reply to a question, Romina Khursheed Alam said Benazir Income Support Program and other social safety measures including provision of free flour to deserving families during Ramadan are aimed at providing relief to the downtrodden people in the wake of inflation. She said the government is working on 17 Sustainable Development Goals with 169 targets to cope with current and future challenges in all sectors. She further said climate change has immensely affected Pakistan and government is making efforts to contain its impacts through plantation, low emissions and public awareness.
