QUETTA:Chief Minister Balochistan, Jam Kamal Khan has said that the introduction of green bus project would help ameliorate environmental pollution and ease traffic congestion in the provincial capital.

These views were expressed by him while presiding over a meeting held here to review progress of Green-Bus-Project to be introduced and installation of tracking system in passenger coaches plying on Quetta-Karachi main highway on Friday.

Briefing participants of the meeting, it was informed that trackers would be installed in 316 coaches plying on Quetta-Karachi highway which would help control speed of coaches besides obtaining data of coaches.

Giving a briefing to the meeting, The Secretary Transport Balochistan said that the tender process of Green-Bus-Project had already been finalized. He said two suitable routes had been identified for the subject project. The Secretary Transport added that the first route would be from Serena Chowk to Buleli Check post with eleven bus stops to be set up along the route.

He added operational and maintenance control of the bus project would be controlled and monitored by Regional Transport Authority Balochistan, said Secretary Transport Balochistan. On the occasion, Khan instructed the concerned authorities for installation of GPS system in the buses along with introducing green-bus-app so that citizens could be facilitated.
