Karachi, January 15, 2018 (PPI-OT):Mayor Karachi Wasim Akhtar said 52 KMC employees will be sent for Hajj this year. Despite of all difficulties sending of employees for Hajj is continued. We are making all efforts to make the departments better so that citizens could be provided with better services. We do not need appreciation for our services as we have taken this as a challenge and utilizing all available resources for better service to citizens of Karachi. He expressed these views while speaking as chief guest in the Hajj Balloting for KMC employees for 2018 held in the KMC Building on Friday.
City Council Parliamentary leader Aslam Shah Afridi, land committee chairman Syed Arshad Hassan, chairman law committee Arif Khan Advocate, Aman Khan Afridi, and KMC officers were also present on this occasion. Earlier Mayor Karachi performed the balloting in which 52 names were picked up for Hajj this year. Later while addressing to the ceremony he said applications from 221 officers of grade 16 and above and 448 officials of grade 1-15 were received from different departments of KMC out of which 16 names from grade 16 and above and 38 names from grade 1-15 were selected through balloting procedure.
He said this year more fire brigade employees were getting this opportunity to proceed for Hajj which is good for us as these fire officials were performs the very noble duty of saving the life and property of people. He appreciated the performance of fire brigade on putting off the fire which erupted in a Ahsanabad chemical factory recently and the fire brigade took prompt action and worked hard to douse the fire completely. He said good work must be appreciated but this trend is not seen nowadays. He however said that the elected representatives of Karachi were working with a spirit to solve the problems of the citizens. We want to make the municipal works better and durable so that citizens could be facilitated and their problems are solved in less time.
