RK Sports Management CEO Rais Khan today congratulated seven-year-old marathon Mohammad Haris from Swabi for setting the Asian Championship record.
According to a statement issued today, Haris broke his own record by covering a distance of 21 kilometers in two hours and 13 minutes in the half marathon of Karachi Marathon.
In a meeting with Haris, Rais said that Haris had proved through his performance that there was no shortage of talent in the country. After setting a world record at the age of six, now at the age of 7, Pakistan has made a name for itself in the whole world by winning the title of Asian Champion.
He said that the government should encourage this young athlete and provide him all facilities at the government level so that he could make the country proud in international competitions as well. Rais said: “We can provide a support including finding a sponsor for Haris Jamal from our platform.
Haris said: “My father Jamal Said is also the current Asian champion of ultra marathon. I always practice with them. My mother and younger sister are also marathon runners. I wish I could follow in my father’s footsteps and set more new records in the marathon.”
