(Health): Sindh Government and KMC hospitals put on high alert

Karachi:Sindh Health Department and Karachi Municipal Corporation (KMC) have put all public hospitals on high alert in Karachi and ordered heads of health cares to make all the necessary arrangements to cope with any medical emergency on 10th of Muharram.

 

All public hospitals put on high alert in the city in connection with Muharram-ul- Haram. The hospitals administrations have been directed to ensure availability of doctors and medical staff and medicines, especially on 10th Muharram.

 

More than 300 beds have been arranged in Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre, Dr Ruth Pfau Civil Hospital Karachi and Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Institute of Trauma to tackle any emergency situation. The security of these hospitals have also beefed up.

 

The heads of health facilities have been directed to ensure presence of medical staff in the Accident and Emergency Department of the hospitals besides ensuring the availability of lifesaving drugs, beds and functional ambulances. The Emergency Control Rooms have also been established in all major hospitals to cope with any medical emergency on 10th Muharram.

 

The leaves of doctors, nurses and paramedical staff have cancelled in all public hospitals. The ambulance service were also put on high alert and medical camps have been established in different areas of city of provide medical facilities to mourners and participations of the processions.
