NAUNDERO: A 13-year old herdboy Qadeer Gopang was allegedly kidnapped from Bajhi Gopang village within the limits of Naundero police station on Wednesday.

His relatives Sarwar Gopang, Naziran, Umrah Khatoon, Rizwana and children Saiqa and Asma held protest demonstration outside press club and alleged that accused Khadim Gopang, Shabir Gopang, Shaman Gopand and two unknown persons kidnapped Qadeer outside the village when he was grazing his cattle at an agricultural field. They feared that the accused might kill him over an allegation of sexual abuse with a boy of the accused.

They said they had gone to the police station but they demanded payment of illegal gratification before lodging our report and on refusal they asked us to leave the police station. They urged higher police officials to order registration of FIR against the accused and recovery of the abducted boy. Naundero police station SHO Shahid Memon, when contacted, claimed that no money was demanded from the members of Gopang community and they are lying.
