High level meetings review security arrangements

Karachi: Sindh Governor Dr. Ishratul Ibad Khan and Sindh Rangers on Monday held separate meetings with religious scholars belonging to different schools of thought and civil administration officials and reviewed security arrangements in connection with the 12th Rabi ul Awwal.

The meeting at the Governor House noted that the ongoing circumstances facing the country demand concerted efforts at every level.

The meeting reviewed the security arrangements adopted in connection to 12th Rabi ul Awwal and visiting delegates apprised the governor of their views.

Sindh Home Minister Manzoor Hussain Wassan, Additional Home Secretary Waseem Ahmed, Secretary Information Mumtaz Shah, IGP Sindh Mushtaq Shah Commissioner Karachi Roshan Ali Sheikh were also present.

Governor said in the wake of security threats the unity showed by people during Muharram was commendable.

Meanwhile, another meeting was held at Pakistan Rangers Sindh Headquarters, attended by police highups and civil administration officers. It also reviewed the security arrangements with regard to the 12th Rabi ul Awwal.

It noted that Police and Rangers Sindh have been alerted while various check posts formed in Karachi, with adequate deployment of law enforcement officers.

The meeting also decided that display of any weapon during procession days of Rabi ul Awwal would be completely prohibited, while parking of vehicles along mosques, religious congregations would also be not allowed.

Law enforcement officers resolved that no aerial firing would be allowed and sensitive areas of the city would be monitored with close circuit cameras.
