A targeted relief initiative has been launched by Senator Tahir Khalil Sindhu to support 500 flood-stricken minority families in Punjab, with a specific focus on the hard-hit Christian community, according to a Senate statement released Thursday.

The initial phase of the campaign successfully delivered essential provisions, including food and other relief items, to over 200 households in Sialkot. The distribution was a collaborative effort involving the Youth Development Foundation (YDF), LDS delegates, the district administration, and church leadership.

Senator Sindhu announced that the humanitarian drive will continue, with the next stage set to assist 150 families in Kasur. This effort is part of a larger plan to reach a total of 500 minority households devastated by the recent inundations.

In his remarks, the senator expressed profound gratitude for the solidarity and tireless work of all partners. He acknowledged MPA Tariq Subhanni, the Deputy Commissioner of Sialkot, Rescue 1122, Fr. Ashraf Gill, Fr. Benny, the Pastoral team, YDF Executive Director Shahid Rehmat, along with LDS delegates and volunteers who were instrumental in reaching the affected populations.

Reaffirming his dedication, Senator Sindhu pledged his ongoing commitment to stand with vulnerable communities throughout this crisis, ensuring that timely assistance and support continue to be provided to those most in need.
