ICC World Cup 2019: Rain stops play with Pakistan at 166 for 6

In the ICC World Cup, a high voltage match between Pakistan and India is underway at Manchester.

India have scored 336-5 in the stipulated 50 overs.

Pakistan’s Muhammad Amir took 3 for 47 in his 10 overs.

Earlier, Pakistan won toss and elected to field first against India. Talking to media, Captain Sarfaraz Ahmed said two changes have been made in today’s team.

He said Imad Wasim and Shadab Khan have been included in the team in place of Shaheen Afridi and Asif Ali.

Sarfaraz Ahmed said Pak India match is a big event and we will try to put our hundred percent effort into it.

He said we have full attention on match today after forgetting the past.

Pakistani skipper said we will try to bowl out India soon.

Radio Pakistan is broadcasting live updates of the match on its FM 101 network.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Imran Khan has said that given the intensity of Pak-India match today, both teams will come under great mental pressure and the power of the mind will decide the outcome of the match.

In a series of tweets, he said in Sarfaraz, we are fortunate to have a bold captain and today he will have to be at his daring best.

Recollecting his memories, the Prime Minister said when he started his cricketing career he assumed success was 70% talent and 30% mind.

By the time he finished playing cricket he felt it was 50-50 ratio.

The Prime Minister said now he tends to agree with his friend Sunil Gavaskar that it’s 60% mental strength and 40% talent.

He said today the role of mind will be more than 60%.

Imran Khan said all fears of losing should be banished from the mind as the mind can only process one thought at a time.

He said fear of losing leads to a negative and defensive strategy and crucial mistakes by opponents are not pounced upon.

Imran Khan urged the team to give their best and fight till the last ball and then accept whatever the result like true sportsmen. He said the nation’s prayers are with the team.
