Karachi, June 27, 2018 (PPI-OT): Caretaker Sindh Chief Minister Fazul-ur-Rehman has said that IDEAS has transformed into an iconic event for cutting edge technology demonstrations as well as forum of shared knowledge and expertise in Pakistan.
This he said on Wednesday while presiding over 2nd Steering Committee meeting of IDEAS 2018 just to provide impetus to ongoing national level preparations for this strategically important event here at the CM House. The meeting was attended by senior representatives from federal ministries, various departments of government of Sindh, the Armed Forces of Pakistan, Law Enforcement Agencies and national electronic and print media.
The chief minister said, it is an international recognition and participation truly reflects our deeply embedded and mutually beneficial relations with the international fraternity. “In fact, IDEAS is a shared platform for global peace, stability and prosperity besides participation of large number of foreign delegates, national and international defence manufacturers. It also serves as global assignation for sharing of common views on contemporary defence and security issues,” he said. He also said that IDEAS 2018 would further accelerate the commercial exchange between delegates, trade visitors, defence officials and OEMs from within Pakistan and abroad.
He said that hosting this 10th edition at innovation and excellence is indeed testimony to our pledge for encouraging technological growth and exchange. “The edition of IDEAS will also pave the way for fostering and promoting Pakistan’s strategic relations with international partners,” he said.
International Defence Exhibition and Seminar (IDEAS) is a mega national event; biennially organized by Defence Export Promotion Organization (DEPO) in Pakistan. Since its inception in the year 2000, IDEAS has emerged as an international rendezvous of defence manufacturers, entrepreneurs, R and D specialist, financial experts, and top level policy makers to promote cooperation, knowledge sharing and support ventures in the field of defence collaboration. The IDEAS is the event that brings together the national and international defence industry for synergistic businesses and cooperation. In this regard, the 10″‘edition of IDEAS 2018 is scheduled from 27-30 November 2018 at Karachi Expo Centre (KEC).
Caretaker Sindh Chief Minister Fazul-ur-Rehman highlighting that the 10th edition of IDEAS said it was a testimony to our pledge for encouraging technological growth and exchange in the region. “The event will significantly contribute towards fostering and promoting Pakistan’s strategic relations with international fraternity and would serve to achieve the shared objectives of global peace, stability and balance,” he said and added the successful conduct of IDEAS since year 2000 was the all-out support by various government departments, Armed Forces of Pakistan, LEAs, public – private defence industry, trade bodies and largely the people of Karachi.
Director General DEPO, Maj General Ahmad Mahmood Hayat HI(M) highlighted that event as per its traditions would host number of splendid activities encompassing world’s cutting edge defence technology demonstrations, International Seminar, Land, Maritime and Aviation Conferences, Pakistan Army Land Forces Capability Display at KEC, Cultural Show and business expansions through well-planned B2B and B2G engagements. In addition, Karachi Show will exclusively be arranged for the people of Karachi at Sea View (Nishan e Pakistan) on 29 November 2018. During the meeting, all government organizations and departments pledged their full support for successful accomplishment of IDEAS 2018.
