Lahore, September 17, 2021 (PPI-OT): Inspector General of Police Punjab Rao Sardar Ali Khan has said that all available resources should be used to bring to justice the thugs, proclaimed offenders occupation groups and court absconders who are harassing the noble citizens by causing trouble to them.
He added that Intelligence-based operations as well as modern technology and other resources should be fully utilized to arrest such anti-social elements across the province. He directed RPOs, CPOs and DPOs to take stern action against these criminal elements who are enemies of life and property of the people under zero tolerance.
He further said that non-discriminatory and prompt legal action against crooks, mafias and their patrons occupying public and private property is the top priority of the Punjab government as well as the Punjab Police. He said that full support should be sought from other government departments and if any influential person or government official was found to be supporting the occupation mafia, then legal action should be taken against him irrespective of his status and designation.
He further said that immediate steps should be taken to bring notorious criminals and proclaimed offenders to justice by using all available resources including modern technology and no effort should be spared in taking stern legal action against the guarantors of proclaimed offenders and court absconders involved in heinous crimes by confiscating their surety bonds.
He further said that in order to further improve the atmosphere of security in the society, counter-operations and intelligence-based operations should be intensified and weekly reports of these operations should be sent to the Central Police Office regularly. He issued these instructions in a letter sent to all RPOs, CPOs and DPOs of the province today.
Instructing the supervisory officers, the IG Punjab further said that they should formulate an effective plan under their supervision for the prevention of serious crimes and bring the culprits to justice while leading the ongoing crime prevention operations so that strong challans may lead to harsher punishments from the courts.
He further said that binding these anti-social elements of the society would not only improve the security of life and property of the people but also further improve the atmosphere of law and order and strengthen the atmosphere of trust between the police and the people therefore Operations and Investigation Wings with the best coordination and effective strategy should take such dangerous thugs, proclaimed offenders and notorious criminals behind the bars.
