ISLAMABAD:Following Supreme Court verdict that nullified rejection of no-confidence motion and dissolution of National Assembly, Prime Minister Imran Khan announced on Thursday to fight till the last ball.

Taking to Twitter, PM Khan wrote that he has summoned the cabinet and party meetings tomorrow and will also address the nation tomorrow. He said his message to the nations is that he always and will continue to fight for Pakistan till the last ball.

Meanwhile, Federal Information Minister Fawad Chaudhary termed the Supreme Court’s decision regarding the deputy speaker’s ruling and the dissolution of the National Assembly as ‘unfortunate’. Taking to Twitter, Fawad wrote that this ‘unfortunate’ decision has increased the political crisis in Pakistan to manifolds. He said an immediate election could have brought stability to the country but unfortunately, the people’s importance has been ignored. He said let’s see how the matter unfolds in future.

In a historic verdict, Supreme Court of Pakistan on Thursday nullified the National Assembly Deputy Speaker Qasim Suri’s ruling on the no-confidence motion against Prime Minister Imran Khan, restored the National Assembly and ordered Speaker to hold voting on the no-trust move on Saturday, April 9.

The SC five-member larger bench, headed by Umar Ata Bandial and comprising Justice Muneeb Akhtar, Justice Aijazul Ahsan, Justice Mazhar Alam, and Justice Jamal Khan Mandokhel resumed its hearing on the suo moto notice on the fifth consecutive day and announced a unanimous historic verdict of all judges, which has been widely hailed by almost all segments of the society.

The Chief Justice announced that the deputy speaker’s ruling is null and void and clarified that prime minister did not have the right to advise the president to dissolve the assembly. He further said that all the decisions made till date have been nullified.
