PESHAWAR:Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman and former prime minister Imran Khan on Tuesday vowed to lead long march to Islamabad on May 25.
Addressing a press conference along with other PTI leaders in Peshawar, Imran said that would lead the biggest procession in Pakistan’s history tomorrow. He said the cabinet had decided to stop Azadi Long March, but they would go ahead.
He said that there was no difference between the “fascist government” and the military dictators of the past as both used the same tactics. The PTI chairman said the opposition protested several times during his government but no one was stopped nor tortured. During the PTI government’s tenure, the then opposition was allowed to stage protests and long marches several times, he added.
PTI had a right to stage a protest against the “imported conspiracy”, he said. PTI Chairman criticized the government for conducting late-night raids in Lahore and questioned why the government was suddenly resorting to such tactics.
Despite several announcements of a peaceful long march toward Islamabad, a crackdown against PTI workers has been launched, the former prime minister said. Imran vowed to lead the long march from Peshawar tomorrow and said that no one could stop the Tsunami of masses.
