Jamaat-i-Islami Karachi, emir, Monem Zafar Khan, inaugurated the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Alkhidmat Hospital Orangi under the management of Alkhidmat Karachi.

He stated that it is the responsibility of the state to provide basic health and education facilities to the public, but unfortunately, these facilities are not available to the citizens of Karachi.

During the inaugural ceremony, Monem Zafar Khan mentioned that Alkhidmat, with the cooperation of philanthropists, is providing modern facilities and working in various sectors. He congratulated the administration and staff of Alkhidmat, whose hard work made the inauguration of the NICU possible.

The ceremony was also addressed by Executive Director of Alkhidmat Karachi Rashid Qureshi, Director of Alkhidmat Medical Services Dr. Saqib Ansari, and Pediatric Specialist Dr. Azhar Chughtai.

Rashid Qureshi remarked that the history of Orangi Town Hospital holds significance, and they are committed to providing modern facilities there. Dr. Saqib Ansari noted that Alkhidmat Hospital offers affordable and quality treatment for all classes and, with the help of generous individuals, treats millions of patients annually.

Dr. Azhar Chughtai stated that a large population like Orangi needed an NICU, and its establishment is a major facility. He informed that doctors will be available 24/7 in the NICU of Orangi Hospital and suggested the adoption of telemedicine to provide immediate and better treatment to patients.
