Sardar Abdul Rahim, Secretary of Information for the Grand Democratic Alliance (GDA), has severely criticized the increase in petroleum prices, calling it detrimental to the public and stating that the inflation storm will sweep away corrupt and incompetent rulers.
Sardar Abdul Rahim targeted the government’s decision, stating that it is pushing citizens further into the quagmire of inflation. “Instead of facilitating the public in difficult times, the government has pushed them deeper into the quagmire of inflation,” he said in a press statement.
He demanded the withdrawal of the increase of Rs. 4.80 per liter in petrol prices and Rs. 7.95 per liter in high-speed diesel.
In a statement, Rahim accused the coalition government of increasing the financial burden on citizens while maintaining their extravagant expenditures. “The coalition government has dumped the mountain of inflation on the public,” he further criticized the government’s policies, stating that the increase in oil prices is essentially “snatching bread from the people.” He also presented a grim view of the political consequences of economic policies, stating, “Insha’Allah, this storm of inflation will sweep away the corrupt and incompetent rulers.”
Additionally, Rahim criticized the government’s international financial strategies. “The coalition government has mortgaged the lives of Pakistani people to the IMF forever,” he declared, expressing deep disdain for the government’s reliance on international financial aid.
Concluding his fiery address, Rahim condemned the capability and integrity of the current administration. “The incompetent coalition government has made the lives of the poor miserable,” and he further attacked the honesty of the ruling ministers, stating, “Under the fake government, corrupt and incompetent ministers are imposing their corruption on the people through Form 47.”
These harsh statements from a prominent opposition figure highlight the heating political climate in Pakistan, particularly concerning economic management and policy-making. The recent actions of the government have intensified public and political unrest, potentially posing challenges for the coalition leadership in the times ahead.
