India asked to stop revengeful policies in IOK

Srinagar, April 24, 2019 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of All Parties Hurriyat Conference, Syed Ali Gilani has appealed to the international community and the world human rights organizations to prevail upon India to stop its revengeful policy against the Kashmiri people.

Syed Ali Gilani in a statement issued in Srinagar said that India had waged a war against the Kashmiris on every front. He said daily killings in the name of operation all-out have put every conscious individual within the firing range of coercive measures. However, he pointed out that despite using its military might, New Delhi would fail to crush the Kashmiris’ legitimate struggle for their right to self-determination.

Like the previous two phases, the Kashmiris also boycotted overwhelmingly the third phase of the polling for the Indian Parliamentary elections in the territory. 65 polling booths witnessed zero votes. Even former puppet Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti’s brother and former puppet minister, Tassaduq Mufti, was among many family members who chose to stay away from the polling process.

A delegation of the Mirwaiz Umar Farooq-led Hurriyat forum visited the residence of ailing incarcerated Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front, Muhammad Yasin Malik, at Maisuma in Srinagar. The delegation expressed solidarity with the family of the seriously ill freedom leader. Earlier, a Delhi court, today, sent the Muhammad Yasin Malik to judicial custody till May 24.

In continuation of its services for the Indian government to harass the Hurriyat leadership, the National Investigation Agency has summoned Anees-ul-Islam, the grandson of APHC Chairman Syed Ali Gilani, in the name of questioning at its Delhi headquarters on April 29. Anees-ul-Islam is the son of the illegally detained APHC leader, Altaf Shah.

Meanwhile, body of a Muslim youth identified as Asif Khan was found under mysterious circumstances in Bhaderwah area of Jammu region, today. It is a routine matter for the past many days that the bodies of the Muslim youth are frequently recovered in Doda, Kishtwar, Ramban, Poonch and Rajouri districts. It is feared that Hindu extremist organizations, Indian forces and so-called village defense committees are behind these target killings.

APHC AJK chapter in a meeting in Islamabad, today, said that the people of Kashmir had offered sacrifices for the right to self-determination and not for fraudulent polls. Kashmiri representative, Professor Nazir Ahmed Shawl, addressing a press conference in Islamabad, today said that the longstanding conflict over Jammu and Kashmir had jeopardized the peace, prosperity and development of the entire South Asia besides bringing death and destruction in occupied Kashmir.
