India has turned IOK into big jail: Abdul Majid Malik

November 14, 2019

Islamabad, November 14, 2019 (PPI-OT): Leader of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) chapter and Vice Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Movement (JKPM), Abdul Majeed Malik has said that India has turned occupied Kashmir into a big jail.

Abdul Majeed Malik in a statement issued in Islamabad said that the Indian government had lodged Hurriyat leaders and activists in different jails of India and the occupied territory or placed them under house arrest to prevent them from leading anti-India demonstrations.

He said India under a planned manner was committing genocide of Kashmiris. He said that the activists of extremist organizations including RSS had been brought to the occupied territory in the garb of troops, who were barging into houses, harassing women and children besides damaging the household goods. He said that the people particularly those living in hilly border areas were being terrorized to force them to migrate from their homes like November 1947 and the only motive behind this plan was to change the demographic composition of the occupied territory.

Abdul Majeed Malik said that the Indian troops were killing innocent people of Azad Jammu and Kashmir living near the Line of Control to divert attention of the world from the Kashmir dispute. He deplored that the troops, in violation of the war principles, were targeting civilian population, hospitals, schools and school vans along the LoC.

He deplored that Hurriyat leaders and activists languishing in different jails were being treated inhumanly and added that were not being provided medical facilities due to which they had developed various ailments.

Abdul Majid Malik denounced the continued military siege of the Kashmir Valley, adding that supply had been blocked due to which the people were facing shortage of edibles and hospitals were lack of medicines. He appealed to the international community particularly the United Nations to impress upon India to give the Kashmir people their inalienable right to self-determination.

He also hailed the government of Pakistan for its unflinching continued support to the people of Kashmir in their just freedom struggle. He said that the Kashmiri people had rendered unparalleled sacrifices for accession of Jammu and Kashmir with Pakistan and the day was not far away when this dream would come true
