India misleading world community about normalcy in IIOJK: FO

Islamabad, November 04, 2021 (PPI-OT):Foreign Office Spokesperson, Asim Iftikhar has said that India is trying to portray a false sense of normalcy in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir to mislead the international community. Asim Iftikhar, responding to a question at his weekly news briefing in Islamabad on Thursday, said India has deployed over 900,000 troops, turning the IIOJK one of the heavily militarized zones in the world.

He said, the people of Kashmir are being suppressed and tormented as well as increasingly alleviated. He added that India would not succeed in its designs to mislead the world about grave human rights violation in IIOJK. The Spokesperson said Jammu and Kashmir is an internationally recognized disputed territory, which should be resolved as per relevant UN Resolutions.

Answering another question, he said, Pakistan is politically committed to its initiative of opening up the Kartarpur Corridor to facilitate Sikh people to visit Kartarpur Sahib Gurdwara visa free. He said it is the India, which has stopped Sikh pilgrims to visit the Gurdwara. He, however, hoped that the corridor will soon be restored.
