India orders NIA to file fresh FIR against Aasiya Andrabi

Srinagar, June 28, 2018 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, Indian Home Ministry ordered National Investigation Agency (NIA), notorious for implicating Kashmiri resistance leaders in fake cases, to register a fresh first investigation report (FIR) against Dukhtaran-e- Millat Chief Aasiya Andrabi for her pro-freedom speeches. Indian media reported that DeM Chairperson Andrabi was alleged to be involved in organising anti-India rallies in Kashmir.

A report carried by The Indian Express while citing the directive of the Indian Home Ministry alleged that Aasiya Andrabi used “various media platforms to spread insurrectionist imputations and hateful speeches that endanger the integrity, security, and sovereignty of India.” However, political experts ridiculed the allegation arguing that neither Jammu and Kashmir is part of India, nor does Kashmiri leadership accept the Indian claim; instead they have launched a popular struggle against the illegal Indian occupation of their territory.

“Andrabi along with her associates namely Sofi Fehmeeda and Nahida Nasreen have been booked under various sections of IPC and UAPA that includes waging war, sedition, promoting enmity between different groups based on religion, criminal conspiracy,” the report quoting Indian Home Ministry official said. The experts termed the Indian allegations as part of the conspiracy to expedite a sinister campaign against Hurriyat leaders, and imposition of Governor’s rule in Jammu and Kashmir is a step towards this end.
